By the time we turn eight, the majority of our thought (beliefs, attitudes, values and expectations) and emotional reaction patterns or habits have been formed and stored in our subconscious to be called into action whenever the need arises. This process is necessary for survival in whatever environment we find ourselves in or have chosen to experience. Ironically, at this age, our ability to think critically, to question or test ideas to determine the kinds of outcomes they create is at its lowest. We lack critical information. As a result many of us spend much of our lives attempting to erase or rewrite negative thought and emotional patterns hidden away in our subconscious. This is not a good or bad thing, it's just the way it is. (More to come.)
